As per the new guidelines related to the issuance of the Police Clearance Certificate, applicants may please note that the PCC application will be submitted at the Embassy by the applicant and PCC will be issued by Embassy only after obtaining the FRESH POLICE VERIFICATION report from India. 

The verification may take up to 30 days or more. Thus, everyone is advised to apply for PCC well in advance considering the time required in issuing the same.

(1) Application for PCC:

For Indian Passport holders

Completed, printed, and signed Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) Application at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/

(Step-A: Register first by choosing the Embassy/ Consulate as Ireland - Dublin and filling your details. You will get an activation email link to your email after successful signup. 
Step-B: Activate the user by clicking on the link received on your registered email address and using the option User Login, login with your registered email Id/User Id and Password in the above portal,
Step-C: After successfully logging to the portal, click on the option Apply for Police Clearance Certificate, fill your details and submit the application).

Please note that PCC is issued on the basis of entries made by an applicant in the online form. Therefore, ensure that all entries in the online, as well as printed application form, are correct.

(2) Fees:

€20 + €2

Payment Method:

For Applications submitted in person at the counter of Embassy:

Fee can now be accepted via any major Debit Card( Visa, Master Card, Maestro, JCB, Union Pay etc.) at POS Terminal at the Embassy counter.

For Applications submitted through post:

  • Fee can now be paid via bank transfer to the Embassy's Account as per the details mentioned below. Applicants are requested to check the website and confirm the exact fees to be paid before making the payment. In case of any doubt, applicants may first contact Consular Section to confirm the exact amount of fees before paying the fees through bank transfer. Fee including the consular fee and ICWF component is to be transferred in a single transaction.
  • Applicant is requested to also submit the proof of fee payment along with the application. The application will be processed only after receipt of the fee in the Embassy’s bank account. While making Bank Transfer, the applicant will mention his/her name, email/mobile no and Passport No., Name of Consular Service requested and File No. of Application form, if available (if remarks column in their bank allow).

(3) Submission of Application and Documents at the Embassy:

Submit the following documents in person or via post at Embassy of India, 69 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin-4, Ireland:

Documents required for Indian Passport holders-

* Printed and signed application form which was generated online.
* A Letter explaining reason to apply for PCC along with contact number and email id.
* Fee as explained above.
* Self-attested photocopy of front and last page of the Indian passport
* Self attested copy of GNIB/IRP card copy
* Two recent passport size photographs with white background
* A self addressed envelope with requisite stamps for return post of documents

Documents required for Non-Indian Passport holders-

*The above completed application form- 
*Fee as described above.
* Self-attested photocopy of front page of the passport
* Self-attested photocopy of Indian Passport (if previously held), Copy of surrender certificate if previously Indian passport hel.
* Copy of immigration stamps on the Foreign passport as proof of their stay in India.
* Two recent passport size photographs with white background
* A self addressed envelope with requisite stamps for return post of documents
* Copy of Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card (for Non-Irish passport holders, where applicable). 
Proof of residence in Ireland e.g. utility bill or bank statement (for non-Irish passport holders).

 

NB: Before applying to the Embassy, please check all the above documents and appropriate fee have been attached with the application.

Document submission time: Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 12.00 noon. (Except holidays)*

Processing Time: For Indian passport holders, as per the new guidelines related to the issuance of the Police Clearance Certificate, applicants may please note that PCC will be issued by Embassy only after obtaining the FRESH POLICE VERIFICATION report from India.

The verification may take up to 30 days or more. Thus, everyone is advised to apply for PCC well in advance considering the time required in issuing the same. If application is sent via post, it will take additional 8-10 working days.

For non-Indian passport holders, it will take upto 5 working days if clearance is not required from authorities in India.

(3) Collection Procedure for Police Clearance certificate:

Police Clearance certificate will be posted to the applicant in the self-addressed envelope provided as soon as clearance is received from India.
