About Us Emergency Certificate

 

 

Emergency certificate is issued to Indian nationals in certain circumstances, to enable them to return to India.

NOTE- Indian nationals traveling on Emergency Certificate may kindly note that Government of France does not recognise Emergency Certificate issued by the Embassy.

(1) Application for Emergency Certificate:

Completed, printed, and signed Emergency Certificate Application at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/

(Step-A: Register first by choosing the Embassy/ Consulate as Ireland - Dublin and filling your details. You will get an activation email link to your email after successful signup. 

Step-B: Activate the user by clicking on the link received on your registered email address and using the option User Login, login with your registered email Id/User Id and Password in the above portal,

Step-C: After successfully logging to the portal, click on the option Apply for Emergency Certificate, fill your details and submit the application).

 

(2) Fees:

€12 + €2

Fee is payable by two separate crossed postal orders/bank drafts in Euros, drawn in favour of Embassy of India, Dublin.

Therefore, the applicant will have to buy two separate postal orders/bank drafts, one postal order/bank draft amounting to €12/- and another postal order/bank draft for €2/-

 

(3) Submission of Application and Documents to Embassy:

Submit the following documents to Embassy of India, 69 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin-4, Ireland:

* The above completed application form

* Two separate postal orders/bank drafts as above

* Original Indian Passport along with self-attested photocopy of front and last page of the passport (if available). (Garda report mentioning Passport number, in case passport is lost).

* Three recent passport size photographs with white background

* Confirmed ticket to India

 

NB: Before applying to the Embassy, please check all the above documents and appropriate fee have been attached with the application.

 

Document submission time: Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 12.00 noon. (Except holidays)*

Processing Time: If application is complete in all aspects it usually takes 3 working days from the date of submission in Embassy.

 

(3) Collection Procedure for Emergency Certificate:

Emergency certificate may be collected from the Embassy, after 3 working days. Please bring your receipt while collection.

To receive the Emergency certificate by Post, applicants are required to send a self-addressed envelope with requisite stamps with the application.
