Lost or Damaged Passports

1. Filling up of Online Application Form

  1. Application to be filled online, using the website: - http://passport.gov.in/nri/

  2. Please enter your phone, mobile number and email id in the column for contact details at screen 2. 

  3. As no prior appointment is required to visit the Embassy, you may simply click "Confirm the Appointment" and proceed further to take a printout of the full form and then:

  • Fill in the remaining columns by hand

  • Put signature/thumb impression in the specimen signature box, at the first page and put your signatures/thumb impressions along with date and place at the other pages in the relevant column(s).

  1. In case previous passport was issued in India, please fill the Personal Particulars Form (click here)

NB: Please note that Passport is made on the basis of entries made by an applicant in the online form. Therefore, ensure that all entries in the online, as well as printed application form, are correct.


  • €110/- + €2/-


Fee is payable by two separate crossed postal orders/bank drafts in Euros, drawn in favour of Embassy of India, Dublin. For example, if someone is applying for lost or damaged Passport, the applicant will have to buy two separate postal orders/bank drafts, one postal order/bank draft amounting to €110/- and another postal order/bank draft for €2/-


2. Submission of Application and Documents to Embassy


Applicant to submit the following documents at Embassy:

  1. The above printed application form

  2. Filled up Personal Particulars Form in case previous passport issued in India.

  3. Original Indian Passport (which is damaged) along with self-attested photocopy of front and last page of the passport;

  4. Three photographs with white background (2x2 inch)

  5. Self-attested copies of the following documents:-

  • Valid Visa copy to confirm status of stay in Ireland

  • GNIB card copy

  • Address proof: utility bill/bank statement/driving licence etc. (in case change of address)

  1. In case of lost passport, Garda report, in original, with passport number to be submitted.

Note: To receive the passport by Post, applicants are required to provide a self-addressed registered envelope (Tamper proof envelope only).

Document submission: Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 12.00 noon. (Except holidays)*

Processing Time: 2 weeks from the date of submission in Embassy

3. Collection Procedure for New Indian Passports:


Passports may be collected from the Embassy, on receipt of Embassy’s intimation email. To receive the passport by Post, applicants are required to provide a self-addressed registered envelope (Tamper proof envelope only).

Documents Collection Time: - Monday to Friday between 4pm and 5pm. (Except holidays)*
