Announcement of 100 ICCR Scholarship Slots for foreign students under the “ICCR Scholarship Scheme for Indian Culture

ICCR has announced 100 scholarship slots under the ICCR Scholarship Scheme for Indian Culture for pursuing study of Indian Culture at Indian Universities/Institutes in the academic year 2021-22. The scholarship scheme encompasses wider facets of Indian culture, such as dance, music, performing art, theatre, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine,etc. The applications from interested students for Academic Year 2021-22 are invited online through lCCR’s A2A Scholarship Portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/. The Portal is operational from 15th March 2021 for foreign students to apply for admission.

2.Highlights of Admission process:

  1. To ensure reputed institutes, University/Institutes with accreditation of NAAC (A and above) rating/ NIRF (rank between 1-50) are listed on A2A Scholarship Portal for admission of foreign students through ICCR.

  2. Applications will be directly sent by students to respective universities to automate the process and enable universities to see the applications received directly from the students.

  3. Applicants will have the option to apply to 5 Universities/Institutes in the order of their preference of study. The admission, as far as possible, shall be given as per applicant’s preference. However, there may be a situation when students do not get admission in their preferred Universities/Institutes due to limited number of seats on offer.

  4. For AY 2021-22, a 500-word essay in English has been introduced to ascertain English proficiency. Besides, students can also submit their TOFEL/IELTS etc. Standardised Test scores, if available.

  5. Depending on the Institute’s requirement, student may have to submit additional documents in the specialised field of dance, music, theatre etc. Applicant must go through institute’s website carefully for such additional requirements.

  6. Rejected candidates will be intimated by Universities.

  7. Disbursement of all scholarship payment to students will be through PFMS.

3.Interested students are advised to visit university/institute website and do thorough research of courses offered, eligibility criteria and general info about the university/institute before applying for admission.

4.The Scholarship includes return economy class airfare to the nearest airport and 3rd AC Train fare to the place of study, if so required. One way Air-Ticket to the selected scholars will be provided by the Mission.

5. Applicants must be at least 18 years and not more than 30 years of age at the time of admission in Indian Universities/Institutes.

6.It is compulsory for all ICCR scholarship students to procure Medical Insurance Policy with minimum sum assured for INR 5 lakhs (equivalent to USD 6800 per annum).

7.Detailed guidelines on the process of applying for ICCR Scholarships online on the A2A Portal and the procedure and norms governing the same are available on www.a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in.
